Our Story

In 2005 my wife and I were gifted a Big Green Egg as a wedding present. As I learned to cook on the Egg I became more and more impressed with the diverse opportunities that cooking on a Kamado-style ceramic cooker presented. However, one thing was missing… how was I to turn my chicken quarters without tearing the precious skin? The flipping racks on the professional chicken pits provided my inspiration. I thought… if an open pit can make amazing BBQ chicken, a Kamado with its controlled environment should be able to ‘blow it out of the water’. Thus was the genesis of the FlipGrill. Now, with the FlipGrill, the backyard or Professional Chef can have greater control of the grilling process. By using the FlipGrill, hot spots can be responded to, flareups reduced, cooker temperatures maintained, fuel saved, exact doneness achieved, not to mention the favor and mouth-watering goodness of “over the fire” food. With the FlipGrill, your imagination is the horizon. You can now use the FlipGrill on many different Kamado grills including Big Green Egg, Kamado Joe Connected Joe, Primo, Grill Dome, Saffire, and Vision. The FlipGrill can also be used on firepits such as Breeo, Solo Stove and others. I love to cook and that passion seems to grow as the years go by. Henceforth, I wanted the FlipGrill to be able to handle many types of food. The FlipGrill was designed to be adjustable so that you can securely flip something as thin as bacon or as thick as a spatchcocked chicken. FlipGrills are also automatically “self-leveling” keeping the grill perfectly horizontal during the cook. Now with the FlipOut model, the FlipGrill is mobile. Using our handy tote, you can quickly hit the road, trail, or wherever the path may lead and there use the FlipGrill to make tasty food, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
